Questions I anticipate may be asked frequently

How do custom orders work?

Fill out the order form with what you're looking for (shape, colours, vibes, reference images). I'll aim to get in touch via email in 3-5 business days with a quote and approximate timeframe.

How much do custom pieces cost?

Custom orders may be a bit more than ready-made pieces because they take a bit of extra time, thinking and occasional emotional resilience. I'll send you a quote before we lock anything in.

Can you recreate something from a photo I send you?

Look, I can probably get pretty close but not identical. But to be fair, if you are approaching me for a custom piece, don't you want a little Flynne energy in it?

Kidding, I'd prefer not to do exact replicas of other artists' work but if you're happy with something close I'm happy to work with you. I also caveat by saying that the kiln has a mind of its own and I am merely guiding the glaze.

Can I order in bulk?

Yes, but to manage any expectations, I'm one woman potting on a balcony. I'm happy to produce 50 mugs for you, but I can't do that overnight. Let me know what you're thinking upfront so I can give you a timeframe estimate.

How long will it take and can I rush an order?

As any good lawyer would say, it depends.

If you know what you want, it's a smaller piece and everything goes to plan, it could take 1-2 weeks. If it doesn't, we could be looking at closer to 3-4 weeks. If I could speed it up I would, trust me.

If you want to rush an order, please let me know as soon as possible in the custom order form so I can realistically let you know if I can do it.

What if I don't fully know what I want?

I understand, all my stuff is amazing.

But seriously, I'd rather us work together to get a clearer picture of what you're looking for rather than you leaving it to my artistic skillz. Good things to think about are colours, textures, sizes, shapes, emotions and and vibes. Good places for inspo images are Pinterest, other potters' instagrams and pottery/ceramic forums on Facebook.

What if I don't like my finished piece?

Firstly, that sucks.

Secondly, I can't offer refunds for change of mind because it's made specifically for you and I probably can't resell your weirdly specific in joke on a mug to someone else. If it's damaged, different story. But if you yuck it, no can do my friend.

I'll always try and work with you to align on the brief beforehand but part of handmade ceramics is that there's a bit of unpredictability. You're not going to get mass produced perfection because I'm literally not a factory.

If something isn't quite hitting with the glaze, I'm happy to try and tweak through a second firing (where possible), but please note that this will take extra time and will incur an additional fee. I cannot stress this harder - there are absolutely no guarantees that it'll be exactly what you want.

Will you ship my order or can I pick it up?

I am so happy to wrap your piece within an inch of its life in bubble wrap and ship it through Australia Post. The shipping quote will vary based on the size and weight of the piece.

You are also most welcome to pick your piece up outside of business hours (soz this girl works a corporate job) at my home in Griffith, ACT. If you are within 10km of Central Canberra, I'm happy to arrange for drop off.
